| Text: | My dad, John H Fuchs , was on his first mission when his plane crash landed in Germany. He spent time in Stalag Luft IV after his capture in Sept. The following February, he was moved by rail car to Stalag Luft I. He turned 21 on the train. In May he was freed when the war ended. He was able to reconnect with the navigator 4 years ago and listening to Lt. Bill Pearson relate his version of their crash and capture was amazing. The two octogenarians have the same stories with only slight differences that resulted from the sixty plus years since they lived them. I sat in awe as Bill told the same stories Dad told over the years. Both men are still remarkably spry. Dad shares his stories at the HEARTS Veterans Museum in Huntsville, TX.

| Text: | I just found your site and wanted to report the passing of my grandfather in January 2006. Robert "Bob" Scott Milligan was a B-17 pilot in the 385th. He flew Homesick Angel and Angel's Sister. He was extremely proud to be a member of the 385th and his family remains very proud of him and his service to our country - along with so many others. God Bless to all.

| Text: | First, I would like to say thank you to all those who made the greatest sacrifice in name of stopping treachry. Thank you. Second, my uncle was James W. Johnston, navigator aboard the B-17 "Off Spring" in 551st Bomber Squadron. In July, 1944, "Off Spring" was involved in a collision with "Curley's Kids" resulting in his aircraft being cut in two and crashing. I am currently researching this story for a possible book. If anyone has any information about this collision (outside of what has been mentioned in this site's dedication), please e-mail me at beltsvilleghosts@hotmail.com. Especially, if you are a first hand, eyewitness to this accident. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
